TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH CHARLIES DODGE, INC., FOR PURCHASE OF A 2006 DODGE CHARGER; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Police Department is in need of a 2006 Dodge Charger; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Service to proceed to purchase said car off the State contract from Charlies Dodge; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this purchase all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into purchase agreement with CHARLIES DODGE, INC., 725 Illinois Avenue, Maumee, Ohio 43537, from State contract #OT909004, for the purchase of a 2006 Dodge Charger; in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY FOUR THOUSAND EIGHTEEN DOLLARS ($24,018) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations to Account No. 101.211.5512, Police, Capital Equipment, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
