TO VACATE THE UNUSED GAS LINE EASEMENT IN RESERVE B OF HUNTERS RIDGE

WHEREAS, the owners of the Hunters Ridge Apartments have requested the City vacate the platted gas line easement that exists through the property; and
WHEREAS, Columbia Gas of Ohio released the easement in 1968 and no longer has any facilities located on the easement; and
WHEREAS, because the easement was platted it must be vacated by the City to be completely removed; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer is recommending we vacate the unused gas line easement; and
WHEREAS, Planning Commission has reviewed and recommended the vacation of this easement at their regular meeting held May 9, 2012;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the gas line easement in Reserve B of Hunters Ridge, more particularly described in EXHIBIT A, attached to this ordinance and made a part herein, is hereby vacated.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
