TO AUTHORIZE SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION TO MIFFLIN TOWNSHIP FIRE DEPARTMENT SITE ON JOHNSTOWN ROAD; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $10,243 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City has committed to extend the sanitary sewer line to the site of the new Mifflin Township Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, due to forthcoming building season, it is necessary to proceed with this extension at the earliest possible date, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with SALEM RIDGE CONSTRUCTION, P.O.Box 71, Township Road 145, Waterford, Ohio 45786, for extension of the sanitary sewer line to the site of the new Mifflin Township Fire Department, in accordance with proposal dated December 1, 1998, attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That TEN THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FORTY-THREE DOLLARS ($10,243) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in S.S.C.I. to ACCOUNT NO. 662.361.5543, CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT, SANITARY SEWER.
Section 3. That Ordinance No. 990001, passed January 2, 1999, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
