TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH RAYMOND J MULARSKI FOR PROSECUTION OF CERTAIN CASES RESULTING FROM GAHANNA MAYOR'S COURT AND MAYOR'S DOWNTOWN CASES; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the contract of the City Prosecutor expires on December 31, 1998 and it is the recommendation of the City Attorney to renew said contract; and
WHEREAS, Mayor's Court is a necessary function of our City Government, and it is deemed appropriate to proceed at the earliest possible date to effect continuity in said prosecution of Mayor's Court cases,all for the accountability of Mayor's Court, and for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE OCUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract of City Prosecutor with Raymond J. Mularski for prosecution of certain cases in Gahanna Mayor's Court and downtown, said contract attached to this legislation as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of Ninety-seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($97,500) shall be set aside in the Year 2000 Appropriations to Account No. 224.151.5233, Tax Increment, Contract Prosecutor, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Coucil and upon date of signature approval by the Mayor.
