TO CREATE AND ENACT CHAPTER 1150 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF GAHANNA, TO DESIGNATE AN OLDE GAHANNA DOWNTOWN DISTRICT.

WHEREAS, the original part of the community of Gahanna is in need of revitalization; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Development has carefully studied the area and talked to area residents and businesses, and has found that these people, who constitute the foundation of the area are in agreement with a rebuilding and revitalizing; and
WHEREAS, Planning Commission held public hearing, said hearing held pursuant to notice and according to law and, as a result of such hearing and deliberations, on October 28, 1998 Planning Commission recommended this application for rezoning; and
WHEREAS, Council held Public Hearing on December 7, 1998, pursuant to notice and according to law;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That there is hereby created and enacted a new Chapter 1150, OLDE GAHANNA DOWNTOWN DISTRICT.
Section 2. That said Chapter 1150, Olde Gahanna Downtown District, is more particular described in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 3. That the Codified Ordinances of Gahanna, Ohio are hereby amended to reflect this new Chapter.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
