TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS (ITS) PHASE II/STYGLER 62 INTERSECTION, IMPROVEMENT NO. 744; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, a signal system study for various corridors throughout the City, including Stygler Road, 62, Hamilton and Granville is greatly needed; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative that these projects begin as soon as possible all for the orderly work on the entrance to our City, and for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., for engineering services for the Intelligent Transportation Systems signalization study, Phase II, Improvement No. 744. That said Proposal Contract is attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That the funding was set aside in the 2000 Appropriations to Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, Engineering, in the amount of $43,400, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by the Council and immediately upon the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
