TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO TEAMING AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES BETWEEN OARNET AND THE CITY OF GAHANNA FOR SECONDARY INTERNET SOURCE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, currently the City has only one Internet provider and would like to add a secondary source so that the City can remain functional through any service disruptions; and
WHEREAS, the Acting Director of Technology has recommended that we proceed with OARnet as our secondary provider; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to have this second source available as soon as possible so there will be no service disruption, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Teaming Agreement for Services Between OARnet and the City of Gahanna, for secondary Internet provider; Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FORTY DOLLARS ($10,140) is available in Account No. 101.348.5251, Information Technology, Technical Maintenance, to cover the herein cost.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
