TO AMEND SECTION 941.15, PICKUP AND DISPOSAL FEES, FOR REFUSE AND GARBAGE PICKUP, TO BE EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2001; TO WAIVE SECOND READING; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, a new agreement has been reached for the cost of pickup of garbage and refuse within the City of Gahanna, and the Code needs to be corrected to correspond with the figures in the new agreement, in order that all residents receive the correct billings; and
WHEREAS, it is prudent to effect these changes at the earliest possible date to correlate with billing schedules of the Water and Sewer Department, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IN ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Section 941.15, Pickup and Disposal Fees, of Chapter 941, Garbage and Rubbish Collection, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna, is hereby amended as follows in EXHIBIT A attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That existing Section 941.15 is hereby repealed, and Chapter 941 is hereby amended to reflect these changes.
Section 3. That waiver of second reading has been requested.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and immediately upon date of signature approval by the Mayor.
