TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH TRICAR LTD FOR FINAL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE WEST GAHANNA BIKEWAY CONNECTOR PROJECT, IMPROVEMENT NO. 786; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, TriCar Ltd has submitted a proposal to provide grant coordination, preliminary engineering design and final engineering design services for the West Gahanna Bikeway Connector project, Improvement No. 786, and the City Engineer has recommended that we proceed with said proposal; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this at the earliest date possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with TRICAR LTD, Design & Construction Services, 10477 Shields Road, Ostrander, Ohio, 43061, for Final Design and Construction Services for the West Gahanna Bikeway Connector Project, Improvement No. 786; proposal attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part hereof.
Section 2. That SIXTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($65,000) was appropriated in the 2001 appropriations to Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, Engineering, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and upon the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
