TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH BIRD HOUK COLLABORATIVE; FOR PHASE I AND PHASE II OF THE OLDE GAHANNA DOWNTOWN DESIGN STANDARDS AND CODE; AND TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $75,000 THEREFOR.

WHEREAS, the Department of Planning & Development believes that the current Olde Gahanna Design Guidelines and the last adopted plan for the area are now dated and in need of comprehensive updates; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Planning & Development has recommended that the City enter into contract with a local firm to produce a new plan and new guidelines for Olde Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, the deliverables would be a comprehensive planning study and analysis named the Olde Gahanna Vision Plan followed by the Downtown Design Standards which would provide design guidelines, review processes and code updates;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Bird Houk Collaborative, 600 Creekside Plaza, Gahanna, OH 43230, said agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($60,000) was set aside in the 2008 appropriations to Account No. 101.343.5253, Development, Planning.
Section 3. That funding in the amount of SEVENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($75,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.343.5253, Development, Planning.
Section 4. That ORD-0001-2008, passed January 2, 2008, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
