TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH 32 FORD MERCURY, INC., FOR PURCHASE OF A 1-TON CREW CAB TRUCK FOR THE PARKS DEPARTMENT; TO WAIVE SECOND READING; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Parks Department is in need of a 1-Ton Four Wheel Drive Crew Cab Truck; and
WHEREAS, the City can purchase this vehicle off of the State of Ohio bid list, Contract #GDC-93-E; and
WHEREAS, a need exists to obtain this truck at the earliest date possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into purchase agreement with 32 Ford Mercury, Inc., 610 W. Main Street, Batavia, Ohio 45103, for purchase of a 1-Ton Four Wheel Drive Crew Cab Truck, in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of THIRTY FOUR THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY THREE DOLLARS ($34,183) was set aside in the 2002 Appropriations to Account No. 101.431.5515, Capital Projects/Equipment, Parks & Recreation, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That waiver of second reading has been requested.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
