TO HONOR AND COMMEND THE GAHANNA LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL 2003 GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM

WHEREAS, the Gahanna Lincoln High School 2003 Girls Softball Team obtained a record of 24 wins and 7 losses in their regular season and placed second in the OCC Ohio Division; and
WHEREAS, the Gahanna Lincoln High School 2003 Girls Softball Team was the District Champion, the Regional Champion, and a State Qualifier; and
WHEREAS, the Gahanna Lincoln High School 2003 Girls Softball Team made it to the 2003 Division I state finals by defeating Massillon Perry 1-0 in the semifinal game; and
WHEREAS, this is only the third time a girls softball team from Gahanna has made it to the State Finals, and the first time since 1981; and
WHEREAS, the team fought a tough battle with Whitehouse Anthony Wayne in the state final game losing 2-0; and
WHEREAS, each and every member of the team contributed to its success, under the leadership of Coach Jim Campolo; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna is honored to have such fine representation in the state finals, and praises all members of the team for their dedication and hard work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council along with the citizens of Gahanna do hereby congratulate, honor and commend the Gahanna Lincoln High School 2003 Girls Softball team for their amazing accomplishments in the 2003 softball season.
Section 2. That this Council wishes all members of the softball team great success in their future endeavors.
Section 3. That this resolution will be in full force and effect after passage by this Council.
