TO HONOR AND COMMEND RUSS COCHRANE

 

Body

WHEREAS, RUSS COCHRANE, has served with excellence as a teacher in the Gahanna-Jefferson School District for 26 years; and

 

WHEREAS, over those 26 years, RUSS COCHRANE, has been the DECA teacher, and students under his direction have received 41 National Awards, 349 State Awards and 454 District Awards; and

 

WHEREAS, the Gahanna Lincoln DECA Chapter, under the direction of RUSS COCHRANE, has been named "District Chapter of the Year" 18 of the last 21 years, which is a great honor; and

 

WHEREAS, RUSS COCHRANE, has served as Treasurer of the Central Ohio DECA district for four years, and Chairperson for two years; and

 

WHEREAS, RUSS COCHRANE, received the Gahanna-Jefferson Chamber of Commerce Service Award in 1986, was Gahanna-Jefferson nominee for Ohio Teacher of the Year, and was Ohio Marketing Teacher of the Year in 1992; and

 

WHEREAS, RUSS COCHRANE, received the Ohio DECA "Special Services Award" in 1999 and has touched countless young lives, instilling in them a spirit to always strive to do their best; and

 

WHEREAS, RUSS COCHRANE, has also been in charge of the running of the Paw Print Store at Gahanna Lincoln High School for 24 years, going from sales of $7,800 in 1977 to $100,734 in 1995; and

 

WHEREAS, RUSS COCHRANE, is an exemplary example to everyone he works with, whether it be the youth or his fellow teachers, and is commended on the excellence he has achieved in his teaching career;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That this Council and the Administration, on behalf of the Citizens of Gahanna, commend RUSS COCHRANE for his years of service and excellence with the Gahanna-Jefferson Schools and the DECA program, and wish him well in all his future endeavors.

 

Section 2.  That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council.
