WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna has enacted Code Section 165.02, to authorize a convention tax for the purpose of expending 95% of all convention tax funds (one half of one percent) so collected to be used for the purpose of encouraging and promoting tourism and visitors to the City of Gahanna; and

WHEREAS, the CIC has agreed to staff, manage and maintain a Convention and Visitors Bureau, for the City of Gahanna; 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with the Community Improvement Corporation for the creation and maintaining of a Convention and Visitors Bureau.  (Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A.)

Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
