TO AMEND THE CONTRACT WITH W.E. STILSON CONSULTING GROUP FOR INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE CLAYCRAFT/MORRISON ROAD DRAINAGE PROJECT, IMPROVEMENT NO. 859; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the 2003 storm events flooded the Kahiki Plant while it was under construction and new plans are complete for a storm sewer to divert the flood flows past the plant; and

 

WHEREAS, the project is on property owned by the City and leased to the Kahiki; and

 

WHEREAS, inspection services are needed in conjunction with the continuation and amendment of the project; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this project for the orderly development of the area, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into amended contract with W.E. STILSON CONSULTING GROUP, 355 East Campus View Blvd., Suite 250, Columbus, Ohio 43235, for inspection services for the Claycraft/Morrison Road Drainage project, Improvement No. 859, in accordance with City specifications, said proposal attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of TWENTY NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($29,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Stormwater Fund to Account No. 631.350.5596, Capital, Miscellaneous Storm Improvements.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2006, passed January 2, 2006, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
