WHEREAS, with the recent approval of an extended stay hotel at the corner of Morrison and Claycraft Roads there is an opportunity to establish a TIF District to generate funds and do some infrastructure improvements; and
 
WHEREAS, a trail along Morrison and Claycraft as well as curbs and some landscaping on Claycraft Road would help to attract further development in the area, and make Central Park more competitive and attractive to private investment; and
 
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has received proposals for engineering and surveying services for the Morrison/Claycraft Trail and has recommended we proceed with Watcon Consulting for the work;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with WATCON CONSULTING ENGINEERS & SURVEYORS, 83 Shull Ave., Gahanna, Ohio 43230 for engineering and surveying services for the Morrison/Claycraft Trail; Improvement No. 998; Proposal attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
 
Section 2.  That funding in the amount of FORTY EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS ($48,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5513, Engineering, Capital Streets, to cover the herein costs.
 
Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2012, passed January 2, 2012, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
 
Section 4.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
