TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING TO AWARD AND ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH DIRT DAWG EXCAVATING LLC FOR THE EAST JOHNSTOWN ROAD DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT (ST-1078)
BODY
WHEREAS, the E. Johnstown Road Drainage Improvements Project (ST-1078) consists of the installation of approximately 500 feet of 24-inch and 18-inch storm sewer lines along with catch basins/manholes located within the E. Johnstown Road right-of-way and on the City-owned parcel at 496 E. Johnstown Road; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this project is to resolve a long-standing drainage issue in the area that requires improvements to the City’s infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, on April 19, 2023, construction bids were opened and reviewed, including four bids received; and
WHEREAS, the lowest bidder, Dirt Dawg Excavating LLC, had a complete and responsive bid; and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends awarding Dirt Dawg Excavating LLC the construction contract for this project, with a bid price of $213,981.00; and
WHEREAS, a total of $235,379 is appropriated for the project and includes a 10 percent contingency for any unforeseen circumstances.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor and Director of Engineering are authorized to award and enter into contract with DIRT DAWG EXCAVATING LLC, primary offices located at 1681 ORANGE ROAD, ASHLAND, OH 44805-1300, for E. Johnstown Road Drainage Improvements Project (ST-1078), attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
