TO SUPPORT THE CITY OF DUBLIN AS THE AT LARGE REPRESENTATIVE TO THE FRANKLIN COUNTY 911 PLANNING COMMITTEE.

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 4931.42 of the Ohio Revised Code, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners has created a 911 Planning Committee; and

 

WHEREAS, the purpose of convening the 911 Planning Committee is to develop a plan for adopting and modifying an effective and updated 911 system countywide; and

 

WHEREAS, the 911 Planning Committee for Franklin County consists of five members, including the presiding officer of the board of county commissioners, the chief executive officer of the two most populous cities in the county, a member of a board of township trustees selected by a majority of the boards of trustees of the county, and a chief executive officer of a municipal corporation in the county selected by a majority of legislative authorities of municipal corporations in the county; and

 

WHEREAS, the 2010 census results have necessitated a change in the designation of the second largest city appointment and the selected municipal appointment; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Dublin currently serves as one of the five primary wireless Public Safety Answering Points in Franklin County and expressed an interest in serving as the selected municipal appointment;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the City of Gahanna supports the City of Dublin as the selected municipal appointment for the Franklin County 911 Planning Committee.

 

Section 2.  That this resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
