TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR 0.783 ACRE AT 4545 EAST JOHNSTOWN ROAD, JOE TRAVATO, OWNER; TO APPROPRIATE FUNDING THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, appraisal has been made of 4545 East Johnstown Road and a purchase price, based on this appraisal, has been recommended by the Director of Development; and
WHEREAS, this land will provide for the extension of Riva Ridge Boulevard and the aligning of this intersection; and
WHEREAS, due to the agreement reached with the property owner, it is prudent to proceed at the earliest possible date to finalize this purchase to facilitate the growth in this area, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement to Purchase 0.783 acre parcel of land known as 4545 East Johnstown Road from Joe Travato and to execute those documents appropriate to this land acquisition.
Section 2. That the amount of One Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars ($130,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the GENERAL FUND to ACCOUNT NO. 101.343.5511, Capital Projects, Development, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That Ordinance No. 980001, passed January 2, 1998, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
