TO ADOPT RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, DATED DECEMBER 7, 2010; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the current Civil Service Rules and Regulations were adopted by ORD-0113-2010; and
WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission recommended and submitted revisions to the rules to City Council dated December 7, 2010; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to pass the Rules and Regulations dated December 7, 2010 to have them in effect as soon as possible and to alleviate any confusion as to which rules and regulations are in effect, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council hereby adopts the RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, OHIO, revised December 7, 2010 as an official document of the City of Gahanna; said Rules and Regulations attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That rules of the Civil Service Commission adopted by ORD-113-2010 will no longer be in effect after adoption of the rules dated December 7, 2010.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
