TO AMEND ORDINANCE 990120, TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO NEGOTIATED LABOR AGREEMENT TITLED "AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF GAHANNA AND UNITED STEELWORKERS OF AMERICA, AFL-CIO, JANUARY 2, 1999 - DECEMBER, 2000;" TO INCLUDE ADDENDUM LANGUAGE WITH REGARD TO ROB WENDLING; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, Rob Wendling has accepted a voluntary demotion from the position of Parks Superintendent to the position of Crew Leader and said demotion necessitates his removal from the Supervisory Personnel ordinance and his inclusion in the United Steelworkers of America, AFL-CIO Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the consent of the local chapter of the United Steelworkers of America, AFL-CIO has been obtained for his inclusion as an addendum to the negotiated contract; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to amend Ordinance 990120 as soon as possible for employee morale, and continued service to the community, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 990120 is hereby amended to include the change of classification for Rob Wendling as agreed to in addendum to Ordinance No. 990120 attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That the remaining funds in Account No. 101.431.5103, Parks Salary Superintendent Maintenance are hereby transferred to Account No. 101.431.5103, Crew Leader.
Section 3. That Ordinance No. 990001, passed January 2, 1999, is hereby amended to reflect this transfer of funds.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
