TITLE
TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTS FOR PROSECUTION OF CERTAIN CASES RESULTING FROM GAHANNA MAYOR'S COURT AND CASES TRANSFERRED TO FRANKLIN COUNTY COURTS.
BODY
WHEREAS, the current contract of the City Prosecutor expires on December 31, 2014 and it is the recommendation of the City Attorney to enter into new contracts; and
WHEREAS, Mayor's Court is a necessary function of our City Government, and it is deemed appropriate to proceed to effect continuity in said prosecution of Mayor's Court cases, all for the accountability of Mayor's Court, and for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contracts for prosecution of certain cases in Gahanna Mayor's Court and Gahanna Mayor's Court cases transferred to Franklin County Courts, said contracts attached to this legislation as EXHIBITS A, B, C, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of ONE HUNDRED TWENTY SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ($126,000) shall be set aside in the Year 2015 Appropriations to Account No. 101.181.5233, City Attorney, Prosecutor, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
