TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO 980440, THE ORDINANCE FOR SALARIES AND BENEFITS FOR UNCLASSIFIED PERSONNEL, TO REMOVE THE POSITION OF ZONING ADMINISTRATOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 980440, passed November 2, 1998, retroactive to November 1, 1998; and
WHEREAS, after discussion, consideration and recommendation by the Administration and Council, the Civil Service Commission has ruled that the position of Zoning Administrator should be a classified position, and so voted unanimously at the March 7, 2000 meeting to classify the position; and
WHEREAS, for the smooth and proper running of the Zoning Department it is imperative that this position be removed from the Unclassified Personnel Agreement at the earliest date possible all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Article II, Pay Ranges, of Ordinance No. 980440, passed November 18, 1998, is hereby amended to delete the position of ZONING ADMINISTRATOR.
Section 2. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and upon date of signature approval by the Mayor.
