A RESOLUTION HONORING CHLOE, INC. AND COMMENDING CONNIE NAFZIGER FOR 25 YEARS OF SERVICE TO YOUNG MOTHERS IN OUR COMMUNITY
BODY
WHEREAS, CHLOE, Inc. (Community Health, Life skills, Opportunities, and Education) is a Columbus-based nonprofit organization founded in 2000 by Connie Nafziger, a registered nurse and longtime Gahanna resident; and
WHEREAS, CHLOE, Inc. is dedicated to equipping and empowering adolescent mothers, ages 13 to 21, by providing them with essential parenting and self-care skills, guiding them toward financial self-sufficiency, and addressing the complex issues of adolescent parenting through a multifaceted approach that includes spiritual, social, psychological, and physical nurturing; and
WHEREAS, under the visionary leadership of Connie Nafziger, CHLOE, Inc. has served as a safe haven for young mothers, offering programs such as mentoring, parenting classes, and support groups like Young Mom Connections, which provide dinner, childcare, activities, and access to resources like Kairo's Closet, supplying infant and toddler necessities; and
WHEREAS, Connie Nafziger's commitment stems from her experience as a community health nurse, where she recognized the need for comprehensive support for young mothers to prevent cycles of poverty, abuse, and despair; and
WHEREAS, over the past 25 years, CHLOE, Inc. has positively impacted the lives of countless young mothers and their children in Franklin County, helping them overcome challenges such as poverty, school failure, and health issues, and empowering them to achieve personal and professional growth; and
WHEREAS, Connie Nafziger is retiring as Executive Director of CHLOE, Inc., leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and transformative impact on the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
