TITLE
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF GAHANNA TO EXIT THE JOINT SELF-INSURANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE CENTRAL OHIO HEALTH CARE CONSORTIUM (COHCC)
BODY
WHEREAS, upon review and consideration of the City of Gahanna’s health insurance program needs, the City has determined it is in the best interests of the City to exit the joint self-insurance agreement with the Central Ohio Health Care Consortium (COHCC), and create a health benefit self-insurance health program and execute agreements for third party administrative services for health and prescription drug coverage and stop loss insurance effective January 1, 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to submit written notice of the City of Gahanna’s exit of the Joint Self-Insurance Agreement to the COHHC pool no later than October 1, 2025, resulting in the termination of coverage as of 11:59PM, local Columbus, Ohio time, on December 31, 2025.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect after passage by the Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
