TO AUTHORIZE PAYMENT OF OVERRUNS TO MS CONSULTANTS, INC., FOR INSPECTION SERVICES CONTRACT FOR THE CHERRYBOTTOM ROAD WATERLINE, IMPROVEMENT NO. 741; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $7,965; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 990383 authorized the Mayor to enter into contract with MS Consultants, Inc., for inspection services on the Cherrybottom Road Waterline, Improvement No. 741; and
WHEREAS, overruns occurred in the inspection services and additional funding is needed to complete the project; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to move forward with this at the earliest date possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That funding in the amount of SEVEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS ($7,965) is hereby supplementally appropriated, from the unencumbered, unappropriated Balance of the Water Fund to Account No. 651.350.5596, Waterline Improvements, to cover the herein costs.
Section 2. That ORD-0001-2002, passed January 2, 2002, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
