TITLE

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORD-0081-2021 AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH FISHBECK FOR PHASE ONE OF THE CREEKSIDE FLOOD IMPACT MITIGATION PROJECT TO INCLUDE PHASE TWO PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

BODY

 

WHEREAS, on January 19, 2022, the City entered into contract with Fishbeck for Phase 1 investigation and planning efforts to meet National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) standards pursuant to ORD-0081-2021; and

 

WHEREAS, Fishbeck has completed Phase 1 services, and based upon the findings, the City is now in a position to proceed with Phase 2 professional services; and

 

WHEREAS, the scope of work includes flood and waterproofing mitigation efforts, as well as opportunities to further improve drainage, public spaces, and amenities; and

 

WHEREAS, staff is including additional services to cover public engagement, planning, and design services for the plaza and Mill Street streetscape enhancements; and

 

WHEREAS, the total contract for Phase 2 professional services is $1,290,500.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with Fishbeck, 1515 Arboretum Dr. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 for professional services for the Creekside Flood Mitigation and Plaza Improvements for a total cost of $1,290,500, said agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
