TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH ENGSOFT SOLUTIONS FOR PURCHASE OF XC2 SOFTWARE FOR THE BACKFLOW PREVENTION PROGRAM; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $1,425; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, in order to comply with EPA requirements, backflow management software is needed; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed with EngSoft Solutions; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with the purchase of this software, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with ENGSOFT SOLUTIONS, 9 Mono Avenue, Fairfax, California 94930, for purchase of XC2 software, for the backflow prevention program, in accordance with City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of FOURTEEN HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS ($1,425) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Water Fund, to Account No. 651.350.5512, Water Capital Equipment to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That funding in the amount of FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,500) was set aside in the 2003 Appropriations to Account No. 651.350.5512, Water Capital Equipment, to further cover the herein costs

.

Section 4.  That ORD-0001-2003, passed January 2, 2003, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 5.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
