Body
WHEREAS, Michael Helman is dividing his acreage on Price Road in order to sell the residence and barn located thereon; and

WHEREAS, the owner is willing to sell the remainder of his property, 21 acres, to the City of Gahanna; and

WHEREAS, this area is a part of the overall master plan for the City's park system, and it is the recommendation of the Administration that the City proceed to purchase; and

WHEREAS, it is prudent to proceed to authorize the purchase of this property at this time for the continuation of the orderly planning of Creekside and the bikeway path, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Purchase Agreement to Purchase and Contract, both documents attached hereto as EXHIBIT A and EXHIBIT B.

Section 2. That the amount of SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($60,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance in THE GENERAL FUND to ACCOUNT NO. 101.431.5515, CAPITAL PROJECTS, PARKS.

Section 3. That partial funding was set aside in the Year 2000 Appropriations for this purchase as follows: Ninety-five Thousand Dollars ($95,000) to Account No. 101.433.5515, Capital Projects, Parks, and Fifty-five Thousand Dollars ($55,000) to Account No. 327.431.5533, Park Fund.

Section 4. That the herein supplemental appropriation along with the funding previously noted as appropriated in the Year 2000, authorizes a total purchase price of and amount not to exceed $210,000.
