TITLE
A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE NECESSITY TO REPAIR AND/OR REPLACE SIDEWALKS IN THE 2024 SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE PROGRAM AREA FOR THE CITY OF GAHANNA
BODY
WHEREAS, the Council has adopted RES-0028-2023 establishing the Program Area for the 2024 Sidewalk Maintenance Program; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering has conducted a survey of sidewalks and developed a list of properties requiring repair and/or replacement of such areas and estimated costs of improvements for each parcel in the Program Area; and
WHEREAS, with the Council’s recent passage of changes to the Sidewalk Maintenance Code through ORD-0054-2023, the 2024 Sidewalk Maintenance Program will allow the City to better assist residents in their responsibility to proactively maintain sidewalks within the program area and increase affordability for residents; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering is requesting a Resolution of Necessity for properties located in the 2024 Program Area to advance the Sidewalk Maintenance Program pursuant to Gahanna Code Section 903.4.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council determines it to be necessary to repair and/or replace sidewalks of parcels identified in the 2024 Sidewalk Program Area; said properties and associated estimated costs more particularly described in EXHIBIT A attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That the Director of Engineering, or designee, is authorized to issue notice to each property owner of parcels identified in EXHIBIT A and to proceed with the Program in accordance with the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
