TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH W.E. STILSON CONSULTING, FOR INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE 2006 ASPHALT OVERLAY PROGRAM, IMPROVEMENT NO. 889; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, with the approval of the 2006 Asphalt Overlay Program, inspection services will be needed; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended that we proceed with W.E. Stilson Consulting; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with the inspection services so that the asphalt overlay program can be finished as soon as possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with W.E. STILSON CONSULTING GROUP, 355 E. Campus View Blvd., Suite 250, Columbus, Ohio 43235, for inspection services for the 2006 Asphalt Overlay program, in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY NINE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS ($29,600) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations to Account No. 220.330.5547, Streets, Paving, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
