TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH BILL WALKER FOR CLEANING OF THE GAHANNA GOLF COURSE CLUB HOUSE FOR 2008; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the cleaning contract for the Golf Course Club House expired January 31, 2008; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks & Recreation has recommended that we proceed to enter into contract with Bill Walker, a golf course member and close resident, for the cleaning of the golf course club house; and
WHEREAS, since the old contract has expired it is imperative to move forward all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with BILL WALKER, 222 Chapelfield Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for cleaning of the Golf Course Club House for 2008; contract attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FORTY TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($4,200) was set aside in the 2008 Appropriations to Account No. 101.433.5250, Golf Course, Janitorial Contract, to cover the herein cost.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is hereby declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
