TO AWARD CONTRACT FOR THE HEIL DRIVE BRIDGE REPLACEMENT (ST-1047).

WHEREAS, bids were opened and reviewed on June 20, 2019, pursuant to Council authorization, and the best, responsible, and responsive bidder has been recommended by the City Engineer for construction services for the Heil Drive Bridge Replacement Project; and
WHEREAS, a total of two bids were received with the lowest most responsive and responsible bidder being Complete General Construction.; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service & Engineering has recommended we proceed with the lowest, most responsive and responsible bidder which was below the engineer’s estimate; and
WHEREAS, the City will receive up to a maximum of $463,179.00 of federal funds through the Municipal Bridge Program in SFY 2019 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Complete General Construction, 1221 East Fifth Avenue, Columbus, Ohio, 43219, for the Heil Road Bridge Replacement Project; said contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of SIX HUNDRED NINETY NINE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED TWO DOLLARS ($699,402.00) was set aside in the 2019 appropriations to cover the costs herein and is in account 6311.1000.5505 Bridge Replacement.
Section 3. The second reading is hereby waived.
Section 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
