A RESOLUTION TO HONOR AND COMMEND MAYOR THOMAS R. KNEELAND FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF CONTINUOUS DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA.

WHEREAS, Thomas R. Kneeland’s service with the city began in 1992 as a Council member. In January 2011, he became the Director of Technology, and in 2015, the Mayor of Gahanna.; and
WHEREAS, Over Thomas R. Kneeland’s term, there have been 3,976 jobs created or retained and $176.5 Million in capital investment in the City of Gahanna; and,
WHEREAS, In 2018, Mayor Thomas R. Kneeland oversaw the Engineering Division’s completion of the largest street program in the city's history. The program consisted of more than 1.47 centerline miles of concrete street reconstruction, 3.24 miles of asphalt overlay, and 7.29 centerline miles of crack seal with a total investment of more than $3.3 Million; and,
WHEREAS, Thomas R. Kneeland made an impact on the City of Gahanna by collaborating with civic organizations like the Gahanna Area Arts Council, Make Gahanna Yours, and area Scouts which provided events like the return of Music in the Park, Lighting of the Arch, and creation of the Woodside Green Park Natural Play Area; and,
WHEREAS, Thomas R. Kneeland built relationships with area organizations Gahanna Ministerial Association, Veteran groups, Gahanna Area Chamber of Commerce and the GJPS Superintendent; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council hereby honors and commends Mayor Thomas R. Kneeland for four years of distinguished service as Mayor to the citizens of the community of the City of Gahanna.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council.
