TO HONOR AND COMMEND MICHAEL O'BRIEN FOR DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF GAHANNA

WHEREAS, MIKE O'BRIEN, has dedicated himself to the service of the citizens of Gahanna as his father and grandfather did; and
WHEREAS, the O'Brien family has been involved with working to make Gahanna a better place to live for over 60 years; and
WHEREAS, MIKE O'BRIEN, serves the citizens of Gahanna with devotion and has always put their concerns first; and
WHEREAS, MIKE O'BRIEN, first served as Council Ward 1 representative from January of 1990 to December 1991, and then as At Large representative from January 1992 through May of 1993, and also served on the Civil Service Commission in 1996 and 1997; and
WHEREAS, MIKE O'BRIEN, was again elected to City Council in 1999 and has served 4 years, serving as President for 15 months; and
WHEREAS, the work of MIKE O'BRIEN has been invaluable to the City of Gahanna as he looks to the future while working to preserve the past; and
WHEREAS, MIKE O'BRIEN, will be missed by everyone who has had the privilege of working with him;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA:
Section 1. That this Council and Administration do hereby honor and commend MIKE O'BRIEN for his years of service first as Ward 1 Council Member, and then At Large, and for giving of himself to make Gahanna a better place to live.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
