TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH MOODY NOLAN, INC., FOR ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING FOR THE INTERSECTION OF HAMILTON ROAD AND STONERIDGE LANE, AND HAMILTON ROAD AT MORSE ROAD; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, future development on Hamilton Road will create the need to widen Stoneridge Lane to five lanes, and the need to add a northbound right lane at Morse Road, and additional engineering is needed; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended that we proceed with the necessary engineering work as soon as possible; and
WHEREAS, because of the upcoming construction season, it is imperative to proceed all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OFF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Moody Nolan, Inc., 300 Spruce Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215, for additional engineering for widening of Stoneridge Lane to 5 lanes, and adding a northbound right lane at Morse Road; proposal attached.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of THIRTY FOUR THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FORTY ONE DOLLARS ($34,441) was appropriated in a prior year, and encumbered to Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects Engineering, and can be accessed from purchase order 47716, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
