TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MEDICAL EXAMINATION SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH EXPRESSMED TO PROVIDE SERVICES AS A BACK-UP FOR DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENINGS.

WHEREAS, ExpressMed is an urgent care facility located on Rocky Fork Boulevard across from City Hall; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Human Resources would like the City to be able to utilize their services as a back-up to our current provider of drug and alcohol screenings; and
WHEREAS, when an employee needs to be sent for drug and alcohol screening after regular hours with our current provider, we utilize an on-call service which is an additional expense; and
WHEREAS, with ExpressMed’s evening and weekend hours, we will be able to decrease the need to utilize the on-call service and will cause less of an administrative burden on our staff.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a medical examination services agreement with ExpressMed, 445 Rocky Fork Boulevard, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, to provide services as a back-up for drug and alcohol screenings; said agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30 days after passage by this Council and date of signature approval by the Mayor.
