WHEREAS, G.E. Evans founded a private practice engineering and surveying firm in Gahanna in 1926, and was later joined by W.H. Mechwart, and then two other partners to become Evans, Mechwart, Hambleton & Tilton, Inc. (EMH&T) in 1954; and

 

WHEREAS, for more than 75 years EMH&T has been dedicated to delivering quality service to the central Ohio community from its headquarters in Gahanna and have expanded to offices in Cincinnati and Indianapolis; and

 

WHEREAS, EMH&T has a total staff of 310 people making it one of the largest businesses in Gahanna; and

 

WHEREAS, EMH&T's commitment to quality has led to recognition and the following awards: an "Outstanding Achievement Award" given by The Consulting Engineers Council; an "Honor Award" given by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Ohio, and an "Excellence in Highway Design Merit Award" given by the Federal Highway Administration; 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That this Council  and Administration, on behalf of the citizens of Gahanna, do hereby honor EMH&T for 75 years of dedication to quality service to the central Ohio community.

 

Section 2.  That this Council and Administration also congratulate and commend EMH&T on obtaining the prestigious honor of  being named the number one engineering firm in the Central Ohio area by Columbus Business First Magazine. 

 

Section 3.  That this resolution will be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council.
