TITLE
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PREPARE AND SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OHIO PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION (OPWC) STATE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (SCIP) AND/OR LOCAL TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (LTIP), AND TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS AS REQUIRED
BODY
WHEREAS, the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) administers the State Capital Improvement Program (SCIP) and Local Transportation Improvement Program (LTIP), which provide financial assistance to local governments for eligible public infrastructure and transportation improvement projects; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna previously applied to the Ohio Department of Transportation's Urban Paving Program (TR-26-02) and has been awarded partial funding to repave approximately 1.1 miles of Hamilton Road in 2028; and
WHEREAS, the Administration desires to seek additional financial assistance through the Ohio Public Works Commission's State Capital Improvement Program and/or Local Transportation Improvement Program to supplement the funding awarded for the Hamilton Road Urban Paving Project (TR-26-02); and
WHEREAS, the OPWC application process requires authorizing legislation adopted by the governing body of the applicant, authorizing submission of the funding request and designating an authorized representative to act on behalf of the City in connection with the application; and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends that Council adopt this Resolution to authorize submission of the grant application and to permit execution of any agreements necessary should funding be awarded.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO, THAT:
