TO AMEND SECTION 945.07, MOWING FEES, OF CHAPTER 945, WEEDS AND GRASS, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA; TO ESTABLISH A NEW HOURLY RATE FOR MOWING FEES; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has asked that the fees for mowing of overgrown lots be raised to a more realistic amount, considering man power and equipment that must be used by the City; and
WHEREAS, due to the summer growing season it is imperative to proceed with this ordinance, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Section 945.07, Mowing Fees, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna is hereby amended as follows:
945.07 MOWING FEES.
The fee charged for mowing by the Department of Public Service is hereby established at the rate of ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY FIVE fifty dollars ($150.00 175.00) per hour, with a minimum charge of ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY FIVE fifty dollars ($150.00 175.00), portal to portal, supported by work orders and daily time records.

Section 2. That existing Section 945.07, or any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, are repealed.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
