TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS AND WAIVER OF SECOND READING - Traffic Signal Cabinet at US-62 and Olde Ridenour Road
BODY
WHEREAS, an emergency repair and replacement of the traffic cabinet at US-62 and Olde Ridenour Road is immediately necessary; and
WHEREAS, the costs of this repair and replacement exceed the Department of Public Service & Engineering yearly repair budget; and
WHEREAS, initial estimates for the repair and replacement are around $83,000; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service & Engineering requests supplemental appropriations from the Streets Fund in the amount of $90,000 to ensure funds are available to perform the work; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends waiver of second reading so that immediate action can occur to hire a contractor to replace the cabinet, components, and fiber lateral to preserve the community’s health, safety, and welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That funding in the amount of ninety thousand dollars ($90,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated unencumbered Streets Fund 2200 as follows:
220.11.000.5205 Contract Services: $90,000
Section 2. That the second reading is hereby waived.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
