TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH USA WASTE OF OHIO, INC., FOR RESIDENTIAL REFUSE, RECYCLING AND YARD WASTE COLLECTION

WHEREAS, bids were received on September 11, 1998 for residential refuse, recycling and yard waste collection; and
WHEREAS, USA Waste of Ohio, Inc., was the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder and has been recommended by the Director of Public Service;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract with USA WASTE OF OHIO, INC., 1006 Walnut Street, Canal Winchester, for residential refuse, recycling and yard waste collection, as outlined in the attached Bid Tabulation, EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding for this was set aside in the 1998 Appropriations in Account No. 850.345.5441, Refuse Escrow, which is funded from residents payments for refuse, recycling and yard waste collection.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
