TITLE
TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH THE OHIO ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR DELINQUENT DEBT COLLECTION SERVICES; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.
BODY
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna has requested the Attorney General undertake, and the Attorney General agrees to undertake, the collection of delinquent debt owed to the City, pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 131.02; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this Ordinance so that the City can begin debt collection services, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with the Ohio Attorney General, 150 East Gay Street, 21st Floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215, for delinquent debt collection services.
Section 2. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
