TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT AMERICAN CONSULTING, INC., FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR HAMILTON ROAD RESURFACING AND MEDIAN IMPROVEMENTS FROM PIZZURRO PARK ROAD TO MORRISON ROAD; TO ALLOCATE $30,550 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, letter proposal for engineering services, dated March 21, 2000, has been received and has been recommended by the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable and necessary to effect this contract at the earliest possible date in order that resurfacing of these streets may proceed in an orderly manner, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with AMERICAN CONSULTING, INC., 2720 Airport Drive, Suite 100, Columbus, Ohio 43219, for engineering services for the Hamilton Road resurfacing and reconstructing of the median at Hamilton Road within the limits of Pizzurro Park Road to Morrison Road, said services to include traffic count at the ramp termini for possible ramp intersection reconfiguration, in accordance with proposal letter dated March 21, 2000, attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and all in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of THIRTY THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($30,550) was set aside in the Year 2000 Appropriations to Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
