TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR A RECREATIONAL TRAILS PROGRAM GRANT.

WHEREAS, the State of Ohio, through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, administers financial assistance for public recreation purposes, through Recreational Trails Program (RTP); and
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna desires financial assistance under the Recreational Trails Program Grant to purchase a tractor/broom/blade/snow blower combination for year round maintenance for our multi-purpose trail system;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Council of the City of Gahanna approves filing an application for the Recreational Trails Program financial assistance.
Section 2. That the Mayor, through the Director of Parks & Recreation Tony Collins, is hereby authorized and directed to execute and file an application with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and to provide all information and documentation required to become eligible for possible funding assistance.
Section 3. That the City of Gahanna does agree to obligate the funds required to satisfactorily complete the purchase and become eligible for reimbursement under the terms and conditions of the Recreational Trails Program.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
