TO HONOR AND COMMEND MAYOR REBECCA W. STINCHCOMB FOR HER MANY YEARS OF CONTINUOUS DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA.

WHEREAS, Rebecca W. Stinchcomb, a resident of Gahanna since 1986, was sworn in as Mayor of Gahanna on October 9, 2001, and was elected for the position in 2003, 2007, and 2011; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca W. Stinchcomb is a native of Westlake, Ohio and she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Bowling Green State University; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca W. Stinchcomb, has served her community since 1986 when she began her career as the founder and first president of the Rathburn Woods Civic Association; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca W. Stinchcomb, was elected to serve on Gahanna City Council as a representative to Ward Three in 1991 where she ran unopposed for re-election for an unprecedented four additional terms; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca W. Stinchcomb, during her Council career, chaired every committee and was elected Vice President twice and also served as Council President; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca W. Stinchcomb, before serving as Mayor, began her career with the Ohio University on the University administrative staff as the first full-time Business Manager of the daily student newspaper, The Post; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca W. Stinchcomb, continued her career over a period of twenty-five years in newspaper advertising serving in sales, marketing and management with Suburban News Publications, ThisWeek newspapers, The Columbus Dispatch, and Newspaper Network of Central Ohio Gannett; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca W. Stinchcomb has completed numerous training sessions that relate to her volunteer positions; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca W. Stinchcomb currently serves as the vice chair of the Executive Committee of the Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency.
