TO HONOR AND COMMEND KENDRA LEANNE STEWART AND LAURA ELIZABETH ANDERSON ON ACHIEVEMENT OF THE GIRL SCOUT GOLD AWARD

WHEREAS, KENDRA LEANNE STEWART was in Girl Scouts from first grade to eleventh grade, and a member of Troop 679; and
WHEREAS, LAURA ELIZABETH ANDERSON was in Girl Scouts from sixth grade to eleventh grade, and a member of Troop 679; and
WHEREAS, both girls completed the silver award in the eighth grade, and were senior scouts in ninth grade; and
WHEREAS, the girls started their project for the gold award in the summer of 2000 when they were going into tenth grade; and
WHEREAS, KENDRA LEANNE STEWART and LAURA ELIZABETH ANDERSON spent over 100 hours creating a database for the Veterans Memorial Committee tracking brick orders and brick information; and
WHEREAS, KENDRA LEANNE STEWART and LAURA ELIZABETH ANDERSON recorded approximately 1,200 existing bricks, adding the data, recording brick locations, name, rank and service of the veteran; and
WHEREAS, KENDRA LEANNE STEWART and LAURA ELIZABETH ANDERSON created alphabetized lists for use of the public and database information that can help the public find their bricks by using coordinates that that are regularly published onto a map and placed in an enclosure at the memorial as a reference; and
WHEREAS, KENDRA LEANNE STEWART and LAURA ELIZABETH ANDERSON, have done a great service for our community and helped to honor our veterans, and each serve as an exemplary standard for the youth of our community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this council and Administration on behalf of the citizens of Gahanna, honor and commend KENDRA LEANNE STEWART and LAURA ELIZABETH ANDERSON for their attainment of the Girl Scout Gold Award.
