TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH WESTERMAN COMPANIES

Body

 

WHEREAS, bids were opened July 7 for this project, and only one bid was submitted; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended that Council award the contract to this company as the lowest, most responsible, and responsive bidder; and

 

WHEREAS, as with all bids, time is of the essence, and it is the desire of this Council to move forward with this important control system for better services to our citizens;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with WESTERMAN COMPANIES, 245 North Broad Street, P.O. Box 125, Bremen, Ohio 43107 for construction and installation of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System in order to tie in pressure reducing valves and lift stations for our water and sewer line control, all in accordance with bid specifications and specifications of the City of Gahanna.

 

Section 2.  That the amount of One Hundred Ninety-seven Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty-eight Dollars is hereby supplementally appropriated to cover the herein costs, and is more particularly set aside as follows:

 

From SEWER SYSTEM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT

To ACCOUNT NO. 662.361.5543, SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT

In the amount of SEVENTY-EIGHT THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS ($78,660)

 

From WATER SYSTEMS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT

To ACCOUNT NO. 652.351.5596, WATER LINE IMPROVEMENT

In the amount of ONE HUNDRED NINETEEN THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED EIGHT DOLLARS ($119,208)

 

Section 3.  That Ordinance No. 980001, passed January 2, 1998, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental funding commitment.

 

Section 4.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
