TITLE

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PROVIDE CONSENT AND ENTER A PARTICIPATORY AGREEMENT WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR ROADWAY MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR ON HAMILTON ROAD AND GRANVILLE STREET

BODY

 

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) are working cooperatively to perform roadway maintenance on SR 317 (Hamilton Road and Granville Street) involving asphalt overlay with minor pavement repair; and

 

WHEREAS, this project will encompass Hamilton Road from the southern municipal boundary, north to Granville Street, and east on Granville Street to Lincoln Circle; and

 

WHEREAS, the work will be completed in coordination with the construction of the Hamilton Road bridge over I-270; and

 

WHEREAS, ODOT has requested legislation pledging the City’s commitment to participate financially in said project, including a local share of the cost of pavement repairs, curb ramps, and 20% of pavement resurfacing; and

 

WHEREAS, the Administration has planned for the local share within the 2025 capital budget request, utilizing county permissive tax proceeds, which align with ODOT’s planned construction schedule slated to commence in the spring of 2025.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to provide consent and enter into a participatory agreement with ODOT for an Urban Paving Project including asphalt overlay, with minor pavement repair, on Hamilton Road and Granville Street (FRA-317-16.72-18.52, PID 108154); said consent legislation and project more particularly described in EXHIBIT A attached hereto and made a part herein.

 

Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
