TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., FOR PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING FOR THE TAYLOR STATION ROAD/CLAYCRAFT ROAD INTERSECTION; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the Taylor Station/Claycraft Road intersection is becoming more difficult to get through during peak hours; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has obtained letter quote for the necessary preliminary engineering services to begin work on the intersection, and has recommended that the City proceed; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed with this at the earliest date possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with Evans, Mechwart, Hambleton & Tilton, Inc., for preliminary engineering for the Taylor Station/Claycraft Road intersection.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of Six Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($6,600) was set aside in the 2000 Appropriations in Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, Engineering, to cover the herein cost.
Section 3. That for the reasons stated in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
